These are packets of snuff made up by menin Thika area and sold in Thika market. The tobacco leaves are dried and ground with a grinding stone on a broken half pot. The tobacco leaves are ground mixed with sheep fat. Magadi (soda) is later added to "sweeten". The snuff is then wrapped in banana leaves packets. Kept in snuff boxes and sniffed up to the nostrils.
