Francisco Rebolo was born in São Paulo (SP) in 1902. Between 1915 and 1917, he took art classes at the Professional School of Brás. Between his thirteen and fifteen years, he began working as a painter and wall decorator. From 1917 to 1934, he acted as a football player. In 1926, he opened a decoration studio and in 1933, transferred it to the Santa Helena Mansion, when he began to dedicate himself to easel painting. In 1935, he began to share the studio with Mário Zanini (1907-1971). With the union of other artists who occupied the mansion, the Santa Helena Group was formed. He took part in 1937 in the exhibition of the Família Artística Paulista. In 1944, he held his first solo exhibition at Brasiliense Bookstore. He won the foreign travel prize at the 3rd National Salon of Modern Art (1954). From 1959, he began to make prints, without ever abandoning painting. He died in São Paulo (SP) in 1980.
