The Sports Palace was planned as another building that would host sports activities for the 1968 Olympic Games. The project was led by architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez together with architects Félix Candela, Antonio Peyri and Enrique Castañeda Tamborell, which is part of the Magdalena Mixhuca sports complex.
Located in Mexico City, Mexico, it’s the largest indoor arena in Latin America and the fourth largest in the world, with a capacity of over 20,000 people. The arena has hosted a variety of events, including concerts, sporting events, and political rallies. It is also the home of the Mexican Basketball League team, the Capitanes de Ciudad de México. The Palacio de los Deportes is a popular tourist destination and a symbol of Mexico City's vibrant culture and entertainment scene.
