It is an unfortunate legacy of our colonial history that much of Africa's literature is inaccessible to even neighbouring countries due to the adoption of a lingua franca. Is the gap is further narrowed because African publishers do not invest in translation? This panel (Emmanuel Iduma, Kinna Likimani, Pierre Cherruau, Veronique Tadjo) explored some of the exciting literature coming out of francophone Africa, in comparison to Anglophone Africa and explored some of the ways that we can bridge the gulf and create a truly pan African Literary scene. .
