In the years 1884–1886, a new building, the so-called Pasaż Piotr and Paweł, which housed, among others shops, bank and restaurant. The building filled the northern frontage of the former Friedrichsplatz (today Słowiański Square). Painter and photographer Gustav Henkel was born in Legnica. In 1870, he opened an atelier at ul. Mickiewicza in Legnica, which operated until the beginning of the 20th century. In 1882, it expanded its activities to include a photolithography and photographic printing facility. Gustav Henkel Died in Legnica.
