In 1926, Angelica Palma (Lima, 1878 - Rosario, 1935), Peruvian writer and journalist, was appointed official delegate of the Peruvian government to the Inter-American Congress of Women, held in Panama City. This Congress brought together women of various Pan-American nationalities, who exchanged ideas in a total of six sessions. Specifically, Palma presented a presentation entitled "El Pacifismo de las Peruanas" ("The Pacifism of the Peruvian women", where she pointed out the desire of women for peace, as well as its possibility from the suppression of the abuse of force.
