Petrified Mother

The sculpture titled "Petrified Mother" was created by Anna Vafia and is located at the Place of Execution in Kalavryta. The sculpture shows a woman who is sitting and resting her head on her left arm. Her lowered gaze, closed eyes and overall facial expression trigger a feeling of grieving and contemplation. She represents the mourning mothers of Kalavryta.
