Jose Galvez Barrenechea (Tarma, 1885-Lima, 1957) was a Peruvian poet, write and politician, who belonged to a group of intellectuals known as the Generation of the 900. He founded the National Association of Writers and Artists, and was a member of the Peruvian Academy of Language and the Historical Institute of Peru. He was also a founding member of the Nacional Democratic Front political group. He held various academic and political positions. He also collaborated with different magazines and newspapers, he also co-founded some of them. People called him the "Lima Chronicler" for his journalistic writings, and "The poet of youth."
