Kang Cheojung’s graduation picture from Yonhui College (1941). Kang Cheojung was a classmate of Yoon Dongju in Yonhui College. The poet, Song Monggyu, and Kang Cheojung lived together in the Yonhui College dormitory and were called the “Pinson Hall trio.” During his time in Yonhui College, Kang Cheojung worked as an editorial staff member of “Munwu (A Literary Friend),” a student magazine of the Literary Deparment. Kang Cheojung carefully preserved major relics that Yoon Dongju left in Seoul as the poet was leaving to study in Japan, as well as the poems sent from Japan, and delivered them to the bereaved family. After liberation, Kang Cheojung worked as a reporter for The Kyunghyang Shinmun and worked hard to publish Dongju’s poem, A Poem Easily Written, along with an introductory text from Jeong Jiyong.
