Photograph of the Convent of the Shoeless, in the Rímac district, in Lima. Its included in the album of photographic miniatures by José María Eguren from the archives of the National Library of Peru. This Franciscan convent was founded for evangelizing purposes around 1595 and, during the Viceroyalty, it trained numerous missionaries. After Independence and during the Republic period, it has continued with their pastoral work. Its building has undergone several reconstructions and remodeling, housing a church, a house of spiritual exercises, cloisters, orchards and a library, among other spaces.
