As Bristol Old Vic was running three Theatre s in the 1970s (the Bristol Old Vic, the New Vic Studio and the Little Theatre ) we needed a great deal of props and costumes. We had a large wardrobe department on site with many seamstresses, and wig makers all working to fit up multiple casts.
Nowadays we receive a lot more shows so there isn’t the same need for lots of makers and craftsmen.
