A nishiki-e by Kunisada I discribing the performance of Datemoyo kasane monogatari staged at Yuuki-za theater in Edo in April of Tenpo 3 (1831). After that, Ningyo joruri-za theater in Edo had to relocate due to reforms in Tenpo era, thus it lost audience and declined. Moreover, Yuuki Magosaburo, who announced himself as the eighth successor to the founder, introduced the manipulation of string puppets and played actively even after Meiji era.
