Pollution 2018 - The Concept

The surface of the square has been designed as a device that amplifies the physical perception of the space, projecting it into a dreamlike dimension. The less inhabited and more uncomfortable central part of the square becomes the heart of the installation: a wood that wildly emerges from a reflective blade with defined shape, through which the usual relationship between nature and the city is turned upside down.
The aim is to provoke in the spectator, through an unexpected condition, a reflection on the benefits that derive from greater integration with nature. The installation, destabilises the hierarchies that dominate the anthropic space of the square and its usual methods of use. The central space in the square becomes an unspoilt natural oasis, where a better quality of air and more comfortable acoustics and temperatures can be perceived immediately.
