The friendship between the composer and the painter lasted from the meeting at the Hotel Lambert until Chopin's death. Kwiatkowski is considered the author of the composer's most intimate images. It is no different in the case of the portrait from 1843 presented at the exhibition. The canvas inscribed in the oval presents Chopin in a light shirt with an upturned collar, a black fur coat and a dark jacket.
