“Postarabust Plate 05” is part of a group of iron plates with inscriptions made with cast letters formerly used in cemetery memorials. Exempt from their materiality, I configure them according to their shape and typography, glossolalia, and xenoglossia. These texts impossible to translate, unspoken and unlearned languages, babblings that point towards an absence. They are modulations on the unknown. Poetic experience before the irrepresentable of the voice and the lost aspect of the word. Pascal Quignard wrote in his Small Treatises: “Thesis: impossible translation. Autonomous linguistic worlds. No transport. Counter-argument: We can get out of language. When we die”. So thus, before the flee, here there is a memorial plate.
