Joinery that secures the bottoms and sides of drawers and trays (shallow boxes used mainly for textile storage) are secured by hammering wooden nails into place. Rather then pounding the nails in perpendicularly, they are inserted at a slight angle to strengthen the joint. After time, vertically straight nails can more easily come out. It requires great skill to hammer the wooden nails in diagonally.
