Torino, Italy

The miniature was realized by Ethienne Bouchardy (the signature is located in cursive on the miniature itself) who worked in the first half of the XIX century and who was student of Antoine-Jean Gros. In the portraiture of the early ninenteenth century, it is evident the influence of neoclassical sculptors in primis Antonio Canova by considering the presence of a strong realism in the representation as well as the choice of the profile, taken after the classical numismatic.
