This town [of Provesende] is located, part on hill, part in valley. It has a hundred and sixty homes or neighbours and seven hundred and fifty people. We discover three settlements in this land, Goivains, Cazal de Loivos e Ervedoza (CAPELA Et. Al., 2006: 428).
Wine is the most abundant fruit that is harvested in Provesende, the white wine is the most select of them all, for its sweetness and clarity, an active and generous wine. Between the red and white wine that is harvested in this town, there are years the tithe will take a hundred and twenty-five pipes, more or less. It has some bread, not much, much olive oil, it has many chestnuts and many fruits, all very tasty (CAPELA Et. Al., 2006: 429-430).
