These images of Pyrmont Bridge in Sydney, Australia are from the book 'Highway bridges of New South Wales' by John Bradfield.

One of the world's oldest surviving electrically-operated swing bridges, Pyrmont Bridge opened in 1902, and provided the main transport route between Sydney CBD and its growing western suburbs, whilst allowing tall vessels to access Darling Harbour through its swing feature.

Most famously known for the design and construction of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, Dr. J.J.C. Bradfield created a collection of 15 books documenting the early construction of Australia's roads, bridges and railways from the late 19th century through to the mid-20th century.
