Salamanca, Spain

This chrysephantine could be inspired by the spectacle Radha, starred by the American dancer Ruth St. Denis, who toured Europe in several occasions, as well as her compatriots Loie Fuller or Isadora Duncan.
Two versions of this chryselephantine were exhibited the Gorham Gallery of New York in 1914.
Paul Philippe conceived an exotic dancer dressed in her garments and accessories. The movement of her skirt lends this work great dynamism.
