Durumagi meaning ‘completely enclosed’ is a variety of po (outer robe). There used to be other types of po such as dopo and changui until the late Joseon period, when men no longer wore a variety of outer robes. However, durumagi continues to be worn by men to this day. This piece is made of ramie fabric that was beaten with a fulling mallet to make it as smooth as silk. The lining is made of thin silk beaten with a fulling mallet.
