Flint is one of the most important raw materials of the Stone Age. It is exceptionally hard, breaks like glass with extremely sharp edges and can easily be modified by knapping. Axes, larger sickle blades and fishtail daggers required flint of an extraordinarily high quality, which can still be found on the Baltic coasts.
