The Royal Soto of Rome is a place steeped in history since the reconquest of Granada. Hunting lodge from the Nazari period, donated by the Catholic Kings to D. Inigo López de Mendoza, Count of Tendilla and Márques de Mondéjar, first mayor of the Alhambra and Captain General of the Kingdom of Granada. After his death he returns to the crown to be again delivered to Minister Godoy and later to the Duke of Wellington in gratitude for his contribution to the War of Independence. In the watercolor drawn in the Cadastre the six cortijos of the place and the source of the Romilla appear. Intendencia Provincial. Contaduría de Única Contribución.
