This book records the process of burying the placenta of Sunjo at Sokri Mountain in Boeun Hyeon, Chungcheong province. When Jeongjo’s first son (later Sunjo) was born in 1790, Gwansanggam (office in charge of astrology, geography etc) selected a good place in Boeun Hyeon, Sokri Mountain, and buried the placenta on 12th August. The official in charge of this event was Oh Jae-sun. This book records the numbers of workers involved, goods used and the process and rituals of the burial. Also some memorial services to report the successful burial of the placenta and to thank the Land god and to ask for a protection of the royal family were being held. This book helps to understand the placenta burial ritual of the late 18th Century.
