As part of the commemoration of the 200 years of the National Library of Peru (BNP), in December 2020 the remodeled "Ricardo Arbulú Vargas" Public Library Station, located in the district of El Agustino, was reopened. The works contemplated the improvement of the library infrastructure, the implementation of a renewed and extensive collection of books, and the improvement of the environment for cultural and educational activities.
The Station is named after Ricardo Arbulú, Peruvian historian, writer and librarian, who was part of the first class of the Peruvian School of Librarians. He was a librarian at the "Larco Herrera" psychiatric treatment center, and Head of the Classification Room of the National Library. He was also a professor at the ENB. He had the great merit of adapting the Dewey classification table to national library needs, developing the Peru Table.
