The Blue House Raid (known as the January 21 Incident), ordered by North Korean leader Kim Il-sung, was an attempt by 31 North Korean commandos to assassinate the President of South Korea, Park Chung-hee, at the Blue House (Cheongwadae) on January 21, 1968. As Kim Sin-jo, who was captured, was the only survivor of the North Korean commando unit, this incident is also referred to as the Kim Sin-jo Incident.
