Saint Joseph

The iconography of Saint Joseph represents him with a beard, wearing a cape and often with a pilgrim’s staff or lily. He is also commonly shown cradling the baby Jesus in his arms. Amongst the smaller surviving Goan images of Saint Joseph, many once formed part of Holy Family groups, now detached or lost.
