This Lombard painter, but Venetian by adoption, is represented by a fragment from a polyptych executed for the Certosa di Pavia, probably for the chapel of the Magdalen. A copy of this panel in the museum of the certosa shows how it looked originally, with the figures full length. The splendid pictorial technique and polished, enamel-like color are a reminder of the artist’s rich heritage, a synthesis of Venetian, Lombard and German sources.
