Schönhauser allee is part of a series of mixes made in 2005 under the title “photodiagenesis”. Photographic images subjected to excess colour, to cuts, to collision.
This series of works explores the promenade, the distracted or superficial gaze, randomness. A digital print that aims to return to watercolours to capture the colours and the fragility, the provisionality, the improvisation, and from the electronic image, its tendency to saturation, to a succession of images, to instability. Schönhauser allee is a composition by aggregation and juxtaposition that draws the urban environment as an expression of the social, of the vitality and brilliance of the contemporary world, of its contradictions.
The title is taken from the Berlin avenue that crosses the heart of the city from North to South. A city in which a huge amount of symbols, precariously joined together, awaits us in every corner, history and images that remain under their current commercial and architectural splendour. The city as a repository of names, styles, lives and stories.
