A blackboard on a wooden frame for personal use. A cloth was attached to the board with a string, which was used to erase what the student had written so they could use it again. This one belonged to Maria Teresa Camps Peiron, daughter of a doctor in the town of Estadilla in Huesca. The Pedagogical Museum of Aragon (El Museo Pedagógico de Aragón) has preserved many school books that belonged to this student. Blackboards were a very important item in schools. Aside from classroom blackboards, each student would usually have their own smaller blackboard, which they would use to write and practice their writing skills, work out calculations, or do other exercises.
