Copper Museum
Legnica, Poland

The black and white graphics show the concentration of human heads, horse heads and weapons (swords, knives, clubs) in various angles. The whole thing is tight, very expressive, darker in the middle. The faces in this part are elaborated in detail, and the closer to the edge, the more sketchy. The figures represent anonymous knights and Mongols, which is a reference to the Battle of Legnica in 1241. In the upper right corner, the artist has placed his self-portrait. The graphics were made on the occasion of the round anniversary of the opening of the branch of the Copper Museum in Legnickie Pole, which is entirely devoted to the Battle of Legnica.
