Kalisz, Poland

A tall vessel supported by a triangular base and three S-shaped, curved feet, between which is suspended a hemispherical burner. Above the body, the form imitates the longitudinally ribbed shape of a cantaloupe melon, characterized by its hammered surface. On the sides of the belly are a pair of handles with a plant vine motif, ending in figures of swans with curved necks. The spout is designed in the shape of a sea monster's head. The spout's stopper is crowned with a fully modeled figure of a parrot perched on a branch. Engraved on the base is the letter "R." On the side of the base, underside, and feet of the stand, the maker’s marks, the silver assay mark of "11" (indicating the silver content in grains), and the city name are repeated three times.
