Lady Wilbraham was the heiress of Weston Park and retained an active interest in the property after her marriage to the Cheshire landowner Sir Thomas Wilbraham (1630-1692). She commissioned the London architect William Taylor to build new east and south ranges to the House and was possibly responsible for the planting of formal avenues that radiated out across the landscape from these fronts, using sweet chestnut and plane trees
