SITA: Sita is portrayed as a young lady feeding doves in a palace. It is not sure if this print from the Ravi Varma Press derived from a painting by Raja Ravi Varma is intended to be a pictorial representation of Sita from the Ramayan. If so, the scene would be from the Valmiki Ramayan immediately after the marriage of Rama and Sita which they spend in the palace of Ayodhya.

A painting which is the exemplar for this print by Raja Ravi Varma is entitled ‘Lady with Doves’.
