"Solidarity! Support the winter campaign"

One of the main elements of ideological and cultural dissemination were the wall newspapers. These had to be displayed in the places where there were the most people, so they had to be specially made using thick brown paper (which withstood more severe handling than the simple paper used for posters), although in this case, in order to promote their dissemination, they were sent to the printers to obtain more copies, where various news items were added, both military, political and cultural, and even sections with jokes and comic strips. The political commissary, the members of the battalions with the capacity to do so and anyone else who wanted to contribute something interesting were commissioned to do so.
The organisation behind this mural, the Spanish Red Aid, was the Spanish section of the International Red Aid, created by the Communist International in 1922 to function as an international political Red Cross.
This time the aid requested is to provide soldiers stationed at the front with warm clothing to help them cope with the harsh winter conditions.
