The Pablo Iglesias Foundation, heiress of the created in 1926 upon the death of the founder of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, was constituted in 1977 as a cultural entity linked to the PSOE. Since then it has worked to spread socialist thought, to preserve an important archive on the workers' movement and socialism and to recover historical memory. In these four decades it has become a recognised centre for reflection, study and debate. The Archive and Library of the Pablo Iglesias Foundation is a prestigious centre for the research and study of the contemporary history of Spain.
