SPECULUM: Binger

Binger is part of the SPECULUM: 10 Characters series, created by the Dutch collective SMACK. This series is made up of ten moving portraits of characters from the SPECULUM triptych. In Binger, an obese, limbless figure is shown inside an urn, watching food revolve around him without being able to catch it. SMACK is a collective formed by Ton Meijdam (Geldermalsen, Netherlands, 1973), Thom Snels (Tilburg, Netherlands, 1978), and Béla Zsigmond (Budapest, Hungary, 1975). This artistic collective uses 3D animation to create figurative videos that explore collective behaviour, digital identity, surveillance culture and the omnipresence of brands.
