This image of St. George's Terrace in Perth, Western Australia is from the book, 'Roads and bridges of Western Australia' by John Bradfield.

The Terrace, as it is affectionately known by locals, runs parallel to the Swan River and forms the major arterial road through the city's central business district.

Most famously known for the design and construction of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, Dr. J.J.C. Bradfield created a collection of 15 books documenting the early construction of Australia's roads, bridges and railways from the late 19th century through to the mid-20th century.
