The largest, most beautiful and most famous among the Wieliczka chapels – the St. Kinga chapel. The basic design of the chapel, made by three miners sculptors, brothers Jozef and Tomasz Markowski and Antoni Wyrodek, was built between 1895 and 1963. The originators of founding a new chapel dedicated to the most important patron of salt miners were Treasury adviser Józef Waydowicz, Senior mining adviser Sylwery Miszke and Mining Administrator Edward Windakiewicz. The most important temple of Wieliczka miners was filled with dozens of statues and basreliefs recounting the story of Jesus Christ according to the New Testament.
