St. Nicholas of Tolentino (1245 -1305 CE) was an Augustinian preacher, and is invoked as a protector against plague. He is depicted as a young man wearing the Augustinian dark habit, sports a monastic tonsure and seems to hold a book, which could be his order's. St. Nicholas has a large star shining on his chest – his true personal attribute.
