Prince Schwarzenberg, one of the most important generals at the time of the Napoleonic wars led negotiations as an ambassador in Paris in 1809 about the marriage of Napoleon to Archduchess Marie Louise. As the only magnificent Austrian carriage which can be dated exactly, his festive carriage with the remarkable neo-gothic decoration is of special importance for the history of European carriage building. © Monica Kurzel-Runtscheiner: Crane Neck and Gold Crepine.
