Los Millares Society

To a great extent, the diet of Los Millares was based on cereals, which were made into flour for consumption. As a matter of fact, mills are the best documented areas in the shacks of Los Millares settlement. They had different sizes depending on their purpose, for example: cereal milling, mineral grinding, herbs or food preservatives such as salt.

There is a centralized management of the stored cereal as well as the livestock. In Fort 1, the cereal is stored and the milling takes place. Due to the volume of production, the flour is made here and it gets distributed to the village and other Forts. The cattle is controlled with the use of stables and dogs.
