Milan Duomo's large window V01, the first along the southern side when entering the façade door, recounts episodes from the life of Saint John the Apostle, Patron Saint and protector of the Notaries' Corporation who incurred the costs for the construction of the window. The panels are the work of the Jesuit friars from San Girolamo (Saint Jerome) and the master glassmaker Cristoforo de Mottis, who - most likely with his son Agostino - joined them in 1475. The stained-glass window, originally intended for Duomo's southern transept, was set in its current position in 1968. Just below the rose window at the top, the trefoils dedicated to the four Evangelists are visible, amongst these are numerous events, including: Saint John Converts the Young Man, Saint John Meets the Philosopher Craton, and Saint John Writes the Apocalypse during his Exile on Patmos.
