Seabreeze Amusement Park is an excellent example of an historic amusement park that has persisted into the theme park era. Presently classified as the fourth oldest amusement park in the nation, Seabreeze started in 1879 as a picnic park on the shore of Lake Ontario at the end of a steam railroad line from Rochester and parts south. Mechanical rides were soon added into the mix and the park became an increasingly accessible destination with the construction of a streetcar line. Roller coasters and an enormous saltwater swimming pool become some of the park's key attractions in the 1920s. By the 1990s, Seabreeze included classic rides, the latest in amusement park technology, and a popular water park with a series of slides, pools, and other splashing fun. This bear and whistle were won as prizes at the Skeeball arcade at Seabreeze.
