The dream of a beach house, own, rented or borrowed. Time to rest. Based on photographs of my personal record and some others from real estate websites, I make a “Pictorial record of architecture in Buenos Aires beach towns”, especially composed of those houses that have shaped our personal fantasy and exist since resting is a right in our country. They lack conventional architectonic aesthetic or any functional design. They only respond to the logic of their owners and the game they allowed themselves to play, because being on holidays also means playing, even in that place where we’re only going to sleep, cook and share some relax time. The igloo houses that emerge in the Atlantic coast landscape and ornament it with its round shapes, a landscape that changes by the late 1930’s, when the concept of tourism starts including the working classes and later strengthens with the expansion of workers’ rights.
