Suffrage banner, 'Education' designed by Mary Lowndes.
Rectangle banner with scalloped bottom edge. 'Education' written in gold paint with metal braid edging across top with 'Learn and Live'beneath. A young school child painted on linen and appliqued, climbing the 'ladder of learning', on the right, parallel with a metal braid snake entwined round a black velvet pole with fleur-de-lis finial. Owl and book painted on linen and outlined with braid, upper left. Red and black velvet, maroon wool, cream linen, gold and cream paint. Given by Philippa Fawcett for the NUWSS procession of 1908.
