This fire-gilt silver fibula belongs to the most important finds of the Roman Iron Age in the District of Harburg. It represents an animal – hound or hart - looking over its shoulder, which was crafted by a Germanic artisan after a Roman model in the indiginous style. Comparable fibulae are known from Scandanavian princely burials
