Unlike other temporary palaces, the Temporary Palace at Namhansanseong Fortress was equipped with facilities for state affairs as well as a royal ancestral shrine with ancestral tablets. Following excavation work conducted in 1999, the main palace for the abdicated king, and the throne hall were restored. In addition, numerous relics including large fragments of roof tiles were found at the site.
