Japan's leading electronic composer and visual artist, Ryoji Ikeda, focuses on the essential characteristics of sound itself and that of visuals as light by means of both mathematical precision and mathematical aesthetics. Mining data for beauty, Ryoji Ikeda's film "test pattern," reimagined for the Times Square electronic billboards, features tightly synchronized, flickering black-and-white imagery. The work is the first time sound was incorporated into a Midnight Moment and serves as a testament to a powerful audiovisual experience.
