"P. P. Rubbens pinxit. / S. to Bolswert fecit "(bottom left); "Martinus vanden Enden excud. / Antverpiae Cum privilege
Regis "(bottom right).

The engraving recalls the Madonna with Child by Rubens, of the Hermitage of Leningrad, n. 497, painted in 1615
(M.Varshavskaya, 1975, pp. 93-95). The Madonna del Rubens is cut on a neutral background, while the bottom of the engraving
it is due to the invention of Bolswert, who strongly accentuated the lights on the Virgin's garments and above all
on the left knee.
The Madonna of the Rubens was later also reproduced by Jonas Suyderhoef
